Case Story - We Do Our Job As Fast As We Can

A long time ago and when I was still young and hadn't become a locksmith yet, I had a traumatic experience with a car lockout. The technician I called took too long to arrive and I was mugged in the meantime. I guess that's what intrigued me to follow this occupation. When I became part of the personnel at this company, I really liked that every one of my fellow technicians was giving attention to the speed at which we work. I gathered that things have changed over the years or that I was lucky to join a great team. I guess it was little of both. The interesting part was when I got my very first call to help a customer, who was locked out of the car.

The customer – Mrs. Campbell – had already reported that she had forgotten her keys in the office, the doors were now locked and she would like someone to open her locked car and make her a new key. When I heard that someone had no access to their car, the memory of my experience came back to me. I was a locksmith now and able to help someone else and that's why I did my best to arrive at the parking lot as soon as possible. Mrs. Campbell was impressed. She said it was just minutes ago when she called and she was very happy I was there so quickly since it was getting dark. I didn't say anything but I was more relieved than she was.

I don't hide that I was a little nervous at that time. It was one of my first jobs and as a newbie I had every right to be a bit stressed, but I had my personal reasons, too. At the time, I was thankful that I had such good training before. Knowing a lot about auto chip keys and the latest security vehicle systems gave me the confidence I momentarily lost. The door was opened in seconds, the lock was intact and once I got the information I needed, I cut and programmed the new key for the customer.

Mrs. Campbell was very excited that everything was done so quickly and went so smoothly and I was more than happy to hear her say that she didn't feel the panic everyone feels when they can't find their keys and it was all thanks to me. These words were music to my ears! In one sentence, the customer managed to take my fear away and I never felt like that again. From that day on, I do my job with great confidence. I never forget my incident so that I will never slow down, but I also remember Mrs. Campbell's words to keep me balanced. It was a great experience!
